Alaska Republicans are asking the state's highest court to block an abuse-of-power investigation into vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's firing of a state commissioner before a potentially embarrassing report on the matter is released.
How ironic that the GOP is now accusing the Commission looking into the tooper firing of abusing their power! What a joke and sad commentary of the republican party. It appears that the GOP does not have a bottom to their sewer
I think the Five GOP state lawmakers, who are saying that the inquiry has exceeded its authority and is too political - ARE TOO POLITICAL !!!
Can't wait for my absentee ballot! (Remember drop them in a public receptacle - not your mailbox where your political affiliation is known or assumed)
Obama/Biden 08!!!!!!!
No, DarinD, they apparently do not have a bottom to their sewer. I just hope they enjoy the stench there, since they will be living in it for at least the next 4 years.
I have never seen or heard such despicable words, tactics, strategies to win an election in my whole life. For a campaign that claims to put "country first", it seems to me all they are doing is wiping their asses with it in their sorry attempt to win office.
Too political...? Hmm, can anyone remember Ken Starr and William Jefferson Clinton (you know, Satan's henchman? ;) )
"too political" is neo-con speak for "too guilty."
LOL Chris!!
I am just so gratified to see the tide turning Obama's way. If the polls hold true, he will win this election easily.
Gutless cowards and crooks the lot of them. Goldwater and Ford are spinning in their graves over how sleazy the current GOP has become. Even Nixon would be embarrassed by them.
That investigation was begun long before Palin was the VP candidate. Who really believes that the national RNC or John McCain woild have given a flick of an elephant's tail as long as the storty was isolated way up in Alaska?
Too political or too close for comfort? Initially the BIPARTISAN group that called for the probe was told Palin would cooperate. Now it's "too political"- If the McCain campaign hadn't flown a team of GOP lawyers to Alaska to INTERFERE in a state matter it probably would have been done and over by now. Well played, guys!!
I don't get this. If Ms. Palin did nothing wrong, then why are SO MANY people trying to block this investagation?? Too POLITICAL, my ass! She's a public figure, even before she was asked to run with McCain. Therefore, she's fair game!!
Sorry lady but if you want to play with the BIG BOYS, you've got be able to take the punches and not go running to find someone to hide behind!
We need to go foreward with this investagation, and let the chips fall where they may. And if it's too embarassing for MS. Palin...well that's too damned bad. Suck it up, honey!!
P.S. It's bad enough this woman is so phoney..she belongs in Hollywood. I'm sorry but the thought of her POSSIBLY running our country, is enough to make a person want to move to Canada!!
Is ignoring a subpoena just one of the perks you receive when you are a Republican? She has learned well from Cheney and the rest of the group. If this was something that came up AFTER she was the VP pick, I would say it might be political, but this was a unanimous decision by the State Reps in Alaska before anyone knew she was the VP pick, if McCain didn't see it as a problem then, why now. If she has nothing to hide, it would have been over with by now and not news worthy. I could care less about the story, I might have done the same thing if I was her sister. But, I do believe after 8 years of our administration ignoring the law and deciding they are above the law, it doesn't make sense to put someone else in the White House that has already decided this worked for Bush and Cheney, so I can get by with it too. If you ignore a subpoena you should go to jail like the rest of America would have to do. If someone would like to explain this I would be more then happy to read what you have to say. But, don't tell me you can break the law if you think "it's political".
I could care less if it happened or not. If that's worse thing anyone has on her I can live with that. Obama, however, has a list of questionable associates a mile long. THAT scares the hell out of me!
So, the same laws apply to Sarah Palin as to Dick Cheney? They do not have to answer to any other government entity? They are above the law? Come on!
It was a bipartisan decision to investigate Palin's alleged abuses before McCain picked her. Palin said she welcomed the investigation.
Now the Republicans don't like the heat! Maybe they know the outcome: Guilty as charged.
The GOP wants the Palin investigation closed, but are clamouring for an investigation into Obama's campaign contributions.
It's time to just disband the Republican party all together, (after the convictions that is!)
THAT scares the hell out of me!
Does your shadow scare you as well Water? Go back to Rush and get tomorrow's talking points. These aren't working.
It's time to appoint an impartial special prosecutor. A grand jury should be convened to find out about Palin's perjury, abuse of power, treason and sedition. How dare she be above the law!? Is anyone else able to supress and ignore the law? She belongs in jail or out on restrictive bond, not playing politics around our Country.
Watermelon and Chicken
I could care less if it happened or not. If that's worse thing anyone has on her I can live with that. Obama, however, has a list of questionable associates a mile long. THAT scares the hell out of me!
I'm with you W & C. As long as they keep trying to squash justice, it makes Palin look more and more guilty. I hope they use every possible opportunity to keep this in the courts and on the front pages of newspapers, on radio talk shows, and on Newsvine.
Palin is at the very least, guilty by association with sleazy Rovian politics.
WHO IS THIS LADY that claims and preaches that she is common folk. The GOP is allowed to corruptly misuse their power to protect a TERRORTIST that is the most uneducated, abusive offical, neglectful mother so she can be the VP of the USA. The GOP are the TERRORIST, the scumbags, the oppressors the absolute bottom dwellers of this country.
TAXPAYERS TO LAWMAKERS: PROBE BABY PROBE!
What? Republicans, the "values" Party, trying to slither out of an investigation? No! That terrorist Obama (oh yes, and the evil Pelosi) are what we'll be left with. I can't stomach the Satanic Democrats, no, I just can't!
LOL, okay so I've learned a little drama from McCain.
vote republiKKKan
Too political...? Hmm, can anyone remember Ken Starr and William Jefferson Clinton (you know, Satan's henchman? ;) )
Millions of taxpayer's dollars spent on the investigation of a non-profitable land deal that led absolutely no where. That is, of course, until a neo-con leaning, or at least as far as job security lead, sycophant illegally recorded a friends conversation. This did not lead to a new investigation, but continued on to the attempted impeachment of a President. The RNC has absolutely no right to interfere with this Alaskan investigation!
When Obama begins sending birthday cards to mob figures, with regrets for not being able to attend their birthday parties, and when Michelle keeps turning up with injuries that she gives ridiculous reasons for, I'll be worried about voting for Obama.
Until then....nah.
The hunted are closing in on the hunter and the former wolves are being reveled as the sheep they are. Funny when the tables turn like that.
The State Trooper was never fired and is still a State Trooper. The Commissioner (an appointee) was offered a transfer because he fought with the Governor over other policy issues, but he resigned instead. Give us a break - This is nothing but a political hatchet job by the left-wing media.
He was fired...you hear me fired. The only hatchet going down is going to be on Palin's neck. I have been saying since she was nominated, she is not going to make it, and she is not. It is so apparent this women suffers from delusions of grandeur. But it is typical GOP style to treat people like crap and think you can get away with it. It's time for the sh!t holes to come home and roost -- all of them.
No ONE man or woman is, or should be above the law. No special privileges or free passe for anyone. ~G
Ken's response to watermelon says it all for the talk show indoctrinators Hannity and Rush whatever. Like religion of the Bin Laden kind politics as religion makes people blind
It takes a generation to educate and there are too many low common denominators around. Looking into the past one can see McCain as one of the lowest common denominator getting by without mission nor vision with near rock bottom academic results looking at life below the belt the "hero" by default who betrayed his country.
What if Obama's running mate was being investigated? Do you honestly think the Repubs would be silent about that. Obama has not even dragged that into the campaign. What does that tell you about who really has the stomach for smear tactics and dirty politics. Can't wait until the Republicans pack their bags. We need a fresh start, and more than ever. I have been watching my stocks all but disappear, so can't anyone tell me that there will be a change in Washington with the "Mavericks" on the watch! That is the biggest joke of a pair I have ever witnessed in an election.
You said it Barbara (and I like your name, by the way)
Let's see - - she went from "I will cooperate with any investigation and have nothing to hide" to allowing her party to obstruct an investigation - an investigation that was approved by a bipartisan (that means both parties, duh!) as necessary and of merit. The facts will speak for themselves if the Republicans are not allowed to silence them! Governor Palin should be anxious to have her good name cleared and should insist on the transparency she claims she wants to bring to Washington.
Vote Smart!
Please clearly state your proof that Obama is a terrorist.
According to the latest new, someone way up the power ladder of our government, stopped our special forces from capturing Osama. I wonder who that could have been?
You mean smarter than that offensive name you have selected. Jealous, because Obama is Black and obviously intelligent. Just tell your candidate to keep it up. His smear tactics are helping to get my candidate elected.
OBAMA/BIDEN 08
The commentor's "handle" sums up his level of idiocy in 3.1, let's just ignore that twit. It's probably Palin's husband.
Corporate welfare and now this shrouded twist to cover up Palin's wrongdoing? She is not fit to lead the PTA at this point.
I intend to vote "smart". I'll vote for change and that means Obama/Biden. Anything else is simply more of the same. And of course, we can expect more of the tired old God, Guns, Gays, Abortion, and Taxes from the simpleminded GOPers.
I mean, you can only go so far backwards. Drop your 19th century ideology, research some new ideas, and you might make a decent showing in the elections, but I doubt it.
Enough is enough. Time for the GOP to return to their natural place in the American political scheme - That of the brakes, not behind the wheel. You can't keep the vehicle of government out ot the ditch! Tsk tsk.
I dunno. I read W&C's post and, I gotta agree. I won't be casting my vote for Osama Bin Laden. Something weird seems to have happened with his caps though... oh wait a minute! I see what you did there! How sneaky! You said something completely irrelevant and implied a connection by changing the way you capitalized words!
Neat... it's like having the McCain campaign right here responding to these posts.
Why bother with stopping the probe? What could be more embarrassing than Sara herself? Besides, even if she's found guilty, just like the rest of the Republicans, she'll just ignore any verdict that she doesn't agree with. They are, you know, above the law.
Yes, I'm afraid that will be the new trend--a "sentencing statement" like Dubya's signing ones!
Like Acorn is above the law? Obama was their lawyer, he's the type of lawyer who gets scumbags out of trouble!
Speaking of scumbags, just how much is the McCain campaign paying you to post these ridiculous statements?
Thank you NewsVine for the ignore button!
Watermelon - Your posts are inflamatory and bigoted. You even use a pseudonim that shows your bias against anyone not like you. Several on this blog have requested that your statements be removed and you be prevented from posting here.
The box in the lower right hand corner - click the exclamation mark, and you can "ignore" comments from someone who is repetitive/rude. I have about 5 blocked, it's great.
I find it interesting that the Republicans (yes I am a registered member of the Republican party - for now) have the audacity to try and smear Senator Obama; however, will attempt to use any means available to them to "cover up" or prevent the investigation into the allegations against Governor Palin. Watergate, Clintongate, Palingate, GOPgate!!!
The GOP spent hundreds of millions of dollars and seven years investigating the alleged White Water/Clinton connection, finding nothing, and they think it is not right to investigate Palin?
Wrong! 36 convictions of Clinton Associates in a the whitewater scandal where many people lost huge sums of money.
The Lawyer representing Palin was appointed by the state of Alaska. I'm sure that McCain's legal staff has input too. About a dozen McCain staff when to Alaska compared to 30 Lawyers for Obama.
DB - Where do you get your information? It sounds like you've been hitting the bottle a little hard. Give some sources. Let us know where we can find these 'facts' that aren't at all close to the truth. You fit right in with the GOP and their tactics.
How dare the Republicans try to sweep Palin's mess under the rug! Barbara in former blog is right. Obama hasn't even begun smearing Palin or McCain, and he has plenty of amunition. The Washington big shots think the American people are stupid (winers too). Just wait, come November!!.
John McCain and Sarah Palin think both joe six pack and the hockey moms are stupid
Wrong, Obama has done plenty of smearing. It's on the internet and in swing states. If you're not in a swing state you may not have seen it.
I guess all criminals should be so lucky as not cooperate with investigations and still be allowed to walk the streets of freedom. Two men on death row, could not get their appeals heard yet Palin, her husband and some of her staff get to ignore subpoenas and not be charged with obstruction of justice. And you want me to vote this kind of person to the second highest job in the land? I think not.
It's on the internet and in swing states
Source please.
Before I even begin to be able to take anything you say seriously, can you PLEASE explain your username???
can you PLEASE explain your username???
It's pretty obvious Lisa. That's why, after reading 2 of his posts, I ushered him into the "Ignore" room to sit out the rest of the campaign! :)
Oh wow, I invited him to my ignore room too! I wonder which one he's in right now!
That's funny Lisa! I may let some of them out after the election just to give them a breath of fresh air as the Democrats move into the White House!
Doh!!
I fully concur with Barbara and Della Atlanta. What does Palin need to worry about if she has nothing to hide, as she first asserted? It's only too "political" if the facts prove something embarrassing for her.
I cannot believe that there are people who believe that Palin would make a good VP (or much less, a President along Bush's mold). God would truly be punishing us if the election turns out that way. Wake up, America!
No, God Bless The USA! Obama/Biden '08
your name kind of answers your own ideals. no guts. no brains, and like palin just a lot of stinky wet feathers. you can't fly either
Sarah Palin becomes scarier every day. She is not a good representation of women and is a bane to our existence. She is one really weird human and a nasty one at that. She opens her mouth and spews garbage. She truly needs to be investigated.
Yes, her and the frighting church she goes to.
SH-2000
I'm so glad you brought that up. With all the mud-slinging she has been doing by trying to drag Rev. Wright back into this to discredit Obama but yet very little is being pointed out about her pastor and the witchcraft thing. Really weird.............................................
I am sure that when she packs her bags and goes back to Alaska, there will still be people from SNLmaking us laugh for at least a couple of more years in her affair's in Alaska. It seems laughter is good medicine in these troubling times..........however, what don't come out of the wash, comes out in the rinse............if Palin comes out of this with out a scratch, I am sure it will stay with her, like the Keating five.........................
It is truly frightening that politics seem to trump justice whenever it's convenient to those about to be exposed. It's even more frightening that we, the American public let them get away with it!
namaste
Yes, I totally agree. I live here in Alaska and have been watching all of this transpire with a helpless plea for the rest of the country to wake up.
Guess What? They finally did!
Obama/Biden '08
What do people in Alaska really think of Sarah Palin now? I think she has allowed the McCain camp to use her, and when it's all over, she will be the one suffering. McCain will still have what's left of his political career, but I'm not sure about her. They are going to drop her like a hot potato. I think she should get a grip and try to stay on policy, and tell McCain "thanks but no thanks", do the biting and fighting yourself.
smell that chicken poop again
W&C were you even alive during the time of the Viet Nam era? Those were certainly wonderful times for the development of a politically motivated and aware youth. There were grassroots movements against the very unpopular war in southeast asia. For the most part these demonstrations were peaceful expressions of the populist anti-war movement. But I imagine you do not share my feelings about this. I assume that you agree with the high handed tactics employed by the police forces. The use of water cannons and tear gas to quell an act of civil disobedience probably appeals to your sense of right and wrong. How do you feel about the early patriots of this country dressing in Native American costumes and throwing tea into the Boston Harbor? I wonder if they should have been water cannoned into submission.Bill Ayers was never charged with any crime . . . he has been a submissive member of society for the past 40 years . . . he has not sponsored any bombings that I am aware of . . . he is a tenured member of a university. When does someone get rehabilitated of his alleged crimes? Does serving a sentence in a prison relieve someone of their crime or are they a criminal forever? Does your answer apply to Chuck Colson as well?
A vote for McCain and Palin is like a vote for G.I. Joe and Barbie, I use to play with them when I was child but I grew up and became a Democrat.
Just like the "I can see Alaska from my house" theory; Repubs would like you to think that just by knowing Wm Ayers' name, we are might be considered terrorist. I mean, really, this man is a casual acquaintance, at best - Keating was a long-time friend, vacation buddy - direct contact, for all I know he might have even seen McCain naked (lol) Get over this foolishness of "guilt by association" McCain IS guilty because he more than associated, he participated and socialized, partied and palled around with Charles Keating, a CONVICTED economic terrorist!
oh boy, I have known from the beginning, what most of the US knows by now. That first month, of being one of the few who really caught on, was very frustrating. However, a woman from Wasilla started the ball rolling with her essay on Palin. It opened my eyes and then I began remembering all of the indiscretions which had occured during her mayoral stint in Wasilla. I had seen all of the newscasts covering the librarian incident, the mass firing of the public officials, all the while wondering how it was possibly legal for her to have done these things. I did not, and do not live in Wasilla, so did not pay particular attention beyond that. I did NOT vote for her in the race for Governor. I did not feel she had enough experience, while the man running against her had previously held the office.
After my long drawn out response, I'll simply say that many in Alaska do not approve whatsoever of Ms. Palin and know that she is definitely NOT qualified to be Vice President. I keep my opinion to myself as the Mat-Su Borough is the home of Wasilla, thus, Sarah Palin.
To the comments by AK resident, I do live in Wasilla and won't be voting for Sarah Palin. I disagree with her politically. I was totally shocked and surprised when she was chosen for McCain's running mate, she is not ready. Please do not judge Wasilla and her residents from the behavior of one person, The MatSu Vally is a wonderful place filled with great people.
The crowd that Sarah Palin drew in Clearwater Florida today was 4500..Barack Obama was at Knology Park earlier this month and drew in excess of 11,000 and more people standing outside..McCain had maybe 3000 when he was at the Tampa Convention Center earlier this month, when Barack was in Tampa back in May at the St. Pete Times Forum it was standing room only..people are tired of the McCain/Palin lie fest..no one wants to go to their party..
Why stop now? Palin was ready to cooperate FULLY before McCain asked her to run for VP, why should anyone else have a problem with it? Because THEY are playing politics, not the investigators. From evidence already at public disposal, she has all the appearance of being guilty as hell. If she's innocent, why shouldn't the investigation go on? Well, because she isn't innocent and the Alaska state GOP KNOWS it. Bye, bye Sara!
Because the chief investigator promised an october surprise. The Chief investigator also happens to be an active Obama supporter. The two emails he is using to investigate further (he release) were wimpy, wimpy, wimpy. Investigations should be done by independants, not either party's people.
DB - There you go again....no facts, sources, or truth. Palin is a criminal even if she is a joke on the National scene. Now, that's backed up by facts. The AK legislature is about to issue their report on perjury, obstruction and possibly treason against Palin and her fellow conspirators.
The republicans on this stupid case act as if they're not ardent McCain/Palin supporters. So what French is an Obama supporter (support can be beautiful), how can you deny that there are NO McCain activist? Lay in front of the train, maybe that will stop it, maybe not - The appearance of a cover-up can easily be translated to mean a guilty Gov. Palin, I'd let the chips fall (especially if I knew I was innocent) but then, is she really? Look at how vindictive she is toward Obama, she doesn't even know him and slanders his name everyday.
Look at how vindictive she is toward Obama, she doesn't even know him and slanders his name everyday.
Very Good Point!
for Alaska news, go to Sarah Palin Truth Squad.
Yes, that would be biased news. The members of the so-called Truth Squad, are Palin supporters and campaign workers. Humph..............................................
Who is it? Meg Stapleton and can't remember the guys name.
Sarah Palin Truth Squad sounds like an oxymoron to me.
Are you planning to run an article on Mr. Dexter Clark? Do you even know who he is? He is the vice-chairman of the Alaska Independence party. Mr. Clark is on video acknowledging the membership of Sarah and Todd Palin. Gov. Palin did address the March convention of the AIP.
Mr. Clark also describes the United States as "a monster," and the Alaska Independence Party openly advocates secession from the United States.
This clearly links the Palin's to a US-hate organization. The REAL issue is that association is not based on sharing time on a Board, or attending church. This association is wholly a political organization, by the way that hates the US and wants secession from it.
We know Todd was a member, we know that Sarah welcomed the AIP at the last convention, and we believe she attended the 1994 convention.
Can you please investigate further so we know who Gov. Sarah Palin really is. SHe hasn't been vetted like the other three candidates. Thank you
We all need to keep on the media to air all this and bring it to light.
Don't care, she's not a terrorist!
its not flying
Watermellon man - You are really self-centered. Apparently you are the leader or active member of some hate group. Your posts are being removed. Stop wasting our time.
Fisherman
I just finally used the Ignore feature on Water... He offers nothing to intelligent discourse!
actually secdening from the union doesn't seem like to bad an idea.
Please remeber what happened the last time some one did that.
Oh jeez watermellon come on over, we can sit down n share a mint juip or two.
Talk things over then I'll introduce you to the rest of the klaven, you'll like them
You've got me rolling on the floor, Dave! Evidently, "old times there are not forgotten!"
She's the new girl on Saturday Night Live -- check her out!
Does Sarah Palin HATE America?
Why did she repeatedly court a secessionist group founded by a man who professes hatred of American, cursed our flag, and wanted to secede from the Union? Todd Palin belonged to the Alaska Independence Party from 1995 until 2002, according to the Division of Elections in Alaska.
Palin attended the AIP annual convention in 1994 and 2000, and she addressed its convention this year as an incumbent governor whose oath of office includes upholding the Constitution of the United States.
AIP founder Joe Vogler had this to say in a 1991 interview: "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."
EXACTLY - and the @!$%# has the unmitigated gall to spread her lies about Obama. I'm telling anyone who will listen - Sara Palin is not a friend to America or Americans - she has only one goal and that is to win the VP and increase her power - she is power hungry and she does not care who she steps to to get it. She is dangerous.
I think there is plenty she doesn't want a bright light to shine on...all they are trying to do is sweep this under the rug long enough to get in office.
"Absolute power corrupts absolutely".
And too embarassing for ms plain! LOL
Alaskan Republicans launched this investigation... and rightly so! Now they're trying to turn it around and act as if it's a Democratic witch hunt for political purposes! Talk about a corrupt bunch of hypocrites! Clearly the cry to stop this investigation is the only political thing about it, as they're afraid it'll cost her votes! I'd say, with Palin's current status as candidate for our Vice President, this investigation is more important than ever! Don't the people have a right to find out what kind of person she really is before casting votes?!
Don't get too worried about it. I have complete faith in the Alaskan Supreme Court to uphold the Superior Court's ruling. There must be a system of checks and balances in government. A board of personnel, appointed by Palin, investigating Troopergate does not allow for that system to work. We should know soon enough.
Sounds like maybe as early as this Friday??
Not if the McCain campaign can do something about it, we wont! I would not put anything past them to attempt to block this! ANYTHING!
Alas, the McCain campaign believes that the election has already taken place and that Sarah, bless her heart, already has the Cheney powers to obstruct, politicize , lie and pervert the Constitution. They are truly living in a dream world. I dread to think how their egos are going to handle the massive defeat they are handed in November.
If people are still surprised at the shenanigans of the GOP, it must be because some of those 'red-Staters' are finally waking up out of their stupors. While all this is old news to those of us who consider themselves long haul Democrats, I suspect there are a few Neo-Cons standing around blinking. Nothing like a big ol' dose of reality to ring the wake up alarm.
Interesting that one of the stories posted along side this one on MSNBC is "McCain Accuses Obama of Lying", saying his "opponent isn't exactly an open book". Hmmm...is there ANYBODY besides the Fox News troglodytes that think's McCain's on the level?! Seriously, it amazes me they're still out there, but they are. Check out Fox's site right now and the misleading headline story they're running, which is the most bileful and rascist thing (in its misrepresentation--watch the video, you'll know) those pillars of journalistic integrity have pulled yet in this election.
And if ya want a cool drinking game, check out the comments and do a shot everytime some trailer-park pundit uses the words "nobama", "country first", or "gotcha journalism". I wouldn't recommend anything over 70-proof unless you want to pull a John Bonham...
Yeah, I caught a glimpse of McCain's BS in saying Obama is lying and not an open book.
Interesting coming from a man that has been lying and hiding the truth from day 1.
I want to know is McCain so off his rocker that he actually believes that crap spewing from his mouth?
Your kidding right? Do you even listen to McCain? He is so full of crap I can smell him from here. Do us all a favor and do some research on McCain. He's been lying and covering up the truth for years.
Is your name some kind of joke or something? It's not really funny. I'm guessing your white huh?
I know it's no big deal and maybe just a coincidence but the motto for the Alaska Independence Party is "Alaska First".....
And we all know what the McCain/Palin's campaign motto is, "Country First".
Just saying...
Watermelon & Chicken - You've gone too far this time. The posters on this blog have reported you to the moderators and you will be banned from posting here. You are a filthy bigoted fool.
I guess here comes the fourth quarter of unethical attacks. Senator Biden was right when he stated that McCain is no maverick, he is more like a weasel! Now he and his side kick Palin are proving themselves to be the dark side of politics. McCain and Palin are trying to take the focus away from the economy and the 150K jobs lost last month. I see the Dow has dropped over 500 points today, we are in the midst of a recession, our 401k's are dropping in value each day. What is the GOP's response to our crisis? talking points of distraction which to me is a clear indictment of McCain's knowledge of the economy. McCain is not putting country first, he is putting individual greed first, just as the Wall Street titans did.
It's the economy Stupid and yes this election will be about accountability!
It will be interesting to see what the "Patriotic Republican Americans" with incomes under $50,000 will say, should the Republicans some how win this election. When they realize that with all the recent losses in the stock market that their retirement went out the window. Most Americans don't realize that over the last 8 years the prospect of a retirement has disappeared for all but the wealthiest Americans who for the most part dont work anyway.
And HOW is your savior going to fix the economy? There is no money left for any of his promises! The only way to fix things is to cut back like McCain wants to do.
Ah, and McCain wants to give tax cuts to his rich friends. News flash for ya, that trickle down idea, doesn't work. And the only way to fix this Countries economy is to keep people out of it like McCain and company. Don't you get it yet. The Republicans run up deficit and then the Democrats have to come in and clean up your mess.
Geeze get a clue will ya.
What? Recesson? NAH, the "FUNDAMENTALS OF OUR ECONOMY ARE STRONG." (mccain) and "we are NOT in a recession" (bush) and "deregulate" (mccain) and "Mission accomplished" (bush) and *hold me accountable" (palin) and "I can SEE Russia" (palin) and "I believe the vice president's powers should be even stronger than Cheney's" (palin)
Let's not forget McCain's extremist pastor, nor Palin'sassociation with the radical Independent party, heck at that we're all doomed to hellfire, a high school classmate of mine is in jail over a drug shoot out in which he killed someone. That must make me a really bad person. And if we're guilty by association then why aren't we pulling out the ENTIRE list of associations? Would it make a difference at all if we found that 99 out of 100 of his associations are great role models? Oh I digress. only the one or two bad ones influence us in our lives. And definitely not in a positive way, as in to walk away thinking "boy, I'll never be like THAT."
All I see is that McCain ISN"T being transparent as he claims he will be. I see that Palin is VERY much in the Cheney school of thought (I sincerely think she's not smart enough to be like him though, she likes to take too much credit and wants out in the public spotlight.)
Her own party doesn't take her seriously, because she wasn't in the loop on leaving Michigan and was VERY against leaving. And that even makes me wonder what her thoughts on spending are, if she didn't mind dumping her party's money into a lost cause in Michigan - OH I GET IT, she's the MIRACLE. She can turn ALL votes. As I listened to the idiot repub commentator on CNN try to convince me that she talks like THEY talk in Michigan. He's never been there and that was SO obvious. Cuz they SURE don't say "golly gee" or "say it isn't so" or "joe six pack" whatever.
I think the final affront to intelligence is: I can attack whoever I want, but it is ILLEGAL and it is POLITICAL and it is WRONG for anyone to attack me. IN SPITE of what I may have done.
I can dish it but I can't take it, huh Palin?
Rock throwing, mud slingin, subpoena dodging, forked tongue, I can see russia from my house, and Putin in my airspace, can't give a decent interview, won't hold a press conference, in California campaigning cause we don't really need you anymore Pitbull, put your heels on and take your gloves off, but your going to need a heavy coat, cause, the majority of AMERICAN VOTERS are sending you back to ALASKA!
There is no end to the GOP's disgusting and dirty tricks. Do they think we are all deaf and dumb...and can't see or hear what they are doing? And then...they actually believe people are going to vote for these two idiots? Wow....I smell a landslide.
The people have a right to know the character of the people they are electing, and that includes Palin. This is not an investigation that started after McCain selected Palin as his running mate. He claims to have selected her, fully aware of the cloud hanging over her. Let the investigation, initiated by a bi-partisan panel, run its course, and let the chips fall where they may.
This investigation started before Palin was named as VP pick. She said she would cooperate. It has only turned political since she was named and decided not to cooperate and McCain sent his bullys to Alaska.
And it would have been fine when the investigation was at a state level. Now that the dog and pony show is involved it's a whole new ballgame!
Lol Watermelon, that's funny. But the real dog and pony show is how the Republicans made fools of the American citizen over the last 8 years. The even bigger entertainment comes from people like you who are still their mindless slaves. Please move to France or Mexico or something.
Careful, WaCiaSP...I have friends in Mexico, and I'd like to still be able to visit them with a minimal amount of ignorant, racist vitriol!
Watermelon and Chicken is a Sick Plant,
Nice name choice. You're kind of my hero right now.
