The Republican presidential candidate ramped up his attacks on his Democratic opponent , while the McCain campaign sought to pre-empt an ethics report due out Friday on his running mate.

McCain simply does not have any solutions or good ideas for dealing with our crisis. He has had two nationally televised debates to prove to voting Americans that he understands the economy, and he has failed miserably. So now he is relying on the ole GOP staple of SMEAR/FEAR! Suddenly Senator Obama is a risk, why was he not a risk three months ago? McCain is very erratic and I would NOT trust him with the controls of our government.

Will someone explain to me, when they say McCain may not live out his term as president and therefore Palin would then become the president and that would be disastrous for the country.
But when someone says Omaba may not live out his term and then Biden would become president and that would be worse yet, They say that's terrible to say! Why ?
Is it alright to think of McCain dying in office but not Obama ?

Ayers may be a "former" or "ex" terrorist bomber, but he is STILL a radical.

This is the McSame old GOP neocon playbook that has been used over and over again. As a result of the 2000 Presidential campaign, McCain has taken the "if you can't beat them, join them approach. The transparency of his win at all costs ambition to be "the decider" is increasing exponentially with his back against the wall with less than a month to go. The basic necesseties and grave concerns of voters will, this time, most likely override the fear/culture propaganda which has served so well for these free market, do as they want to, control the world, order through chaos, new world order architects. It will only become worse before the election.
Independent voters in the midwest here this, from a former Alabama Republican voter, please do not be fooled by the charade this time, do yourselves and the country a favor and remove these people from power. McCain/Palin wouldn't be running our country; the same people in the shadows of the Bush administration would.

Hey Paul 246112. I don't believe your really that out of touch, however you certainly can NOT compare Palin to Biden as far as ability to RUN this country??? Also there a big difference for someone who is in his 70s and not 100% healthy to a relatively healthy man being killed as is being stirred up by your corrupt, sick dog with lip stick and her new found bimbo !
Get ready for a BIG movement in this country where WE may toss all repugnants out. Your disturbed slimey stump speaches are and will continue to backfire !! O8/12

I agree. McCain and Palin's rallies are becoming a rallying point for a lynch mob and this scares me. It's amazing and scary how people will believe what they are told without doing their own research. McCain's lies are becoming more dangerous to Obama's safety and security than any terrorist could ever hope for. He aligns Obama with terrorist while creating his own. It's funny, I would take ten years off my life to have had McCain be president these past eight years instead of Bush. Now, it's as if he's become a totally different person. A frightening change.

Short of ripping off his shoe and whacking it repeatedly on the podium - I'm not sure just how much more like Kruschev this guy could get.....!!! Absoutly no one is admitted to one of his rallies unless they are a card carrying Republican, shills planted in the audience to shout disparaging comments - at exactly the right moments - he has a whole national NEWS (?) organization at their beck-and-call with misinformed twisted (often manufactured) versions of the "Pravda" (truth) and a whole cast of comrades comprising his staff. What a guy..., and people are still listening to his rethotic!!! Come on.....
In case you haven't seen it yet - give this a read, turns out "Your Hero" isn't as squeeky clean as he wants you to believe, he's just squeeky:

Watching video of people coming out of McCain and Palin's rallies reminds me of cornered rats. They are really vicious and hateful. It is not that they are whipped up to believe in their platform, they are being whipped up to Hate Obama. This is really dangerous. The right wing is full of kooks anyway, and it is incitement to violence to do this.

Are you talking about McCain not understanding the economy? Were you asleep when Obama repeatedly offered saving homeowners who are in trouble with mortgages and covering everybody with health care and tax break (really?) for 95% of Americans - NEVER saying HOW? with what money? Obama only promises and some naive people like you buy it. We go through this every four years, remember? Finally, Obama does not have ties to FORMER terrorists, they are still the same terrorists. Obama's true agenda will unfold, if he gets elected. Then, there will be no turning back. Michael
Anyone who still thinks that McCain is not like the George Bush administration of Fear, should only look at the past two weeks. Actually, this ticket is even scarier than the Bush/Cheney ticket. They are starting to look like raving lunatics, and the rallies are nothing less than Mob scenes. Completely irresponsible. We deserve what we will get, if we re-elect these fear mongering neo-cons.

McCains mother should have disciplined him more...he is like a child that sees something he wants being taken out of reach and begins to through a fit. Get a life McCain. He didn't want a disfigured wife so he left her for Cindy McCain, half his age and whom he had an affair with prior to leaving his first wife.
And Ms. Palin has thrown her Christianity under the bus to partake in slander and lies - shame on her - for someone who likes to call herself, and McCain, Maverick they appear as the same old crap the GOP has put out for the past several elections...pitiful.
Then Palin speaks to a convention of Independent Alaska Party - where the leader says he hates American and refuses to be buried under the American Flag - her husban (and I believe) she were members. Not the brightest bulbs on the tree.
For those foolish enough to believeanything McCain says, here's some hard facts the maverick seems to have forgotten to tell you:In Letter to 'NYT,' Man Who Prosecuted Weather Underground Hits Linking Ayers to Obama
By Greg Mitchell
Published: October 10, 2008 9:00 AM ETNEW YORK In a surprising a letter to the editor published in The New York Times today, the chief prosecutor of the Weather Underground in the 1970s expressed outrage over the linking of Barack Obama to Bill Ayers by the McCain campaign, adding, "Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen."
William C. Ibershof also corrects a charge in the Times:"I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of 'prosecutorial misconduct.' It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director."The full letter follows:As the lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen in the 1970s (I was then chief of the criminal division in the Eastern District of Michigan and took over the Weathermen prosecution in 1972), I am amazed and outraged that Senator Barack Obama is being linked to William Ayers's terrorist activities 40 years ago when Mr. Obama was, as he has noted, just a child.
Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen.
Because Senator Obama recently served on a board of a charitable organization with Mr. Ayers cannot possibly link the senator to acts perpetrated by Mr. Ayers so many years ago.
I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of "prosecutorial misconduct." It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W. Mark Felt, an F.B.I. assistant director.

Is there anyone in the McCain camp who is even watching the Dow Jones, the credit markets or any other aspect of the current economic meltdown? I guess not, since all McCain and Palin can talk about is Bill Ayers.

HALT- This issue in the market is the delayed time bomb that was planted by the Clinton administration (New York Times, Sept 30, 1999) and Congress pressuring Fannie Mae to give sub-prime (unqualified people) mortgages to the low income and minorities unable to meet loan criteria. The evil man does lives on after them, ticking bombs will explode, extremist racists may lie, but the truth comes out eventually.
Let's see you liberals cite the basis for your wild assumptions.

Paul, Of course either could die in office. The concern about McCain is that he is 72, battled cancer 3 times. and suffers from permanent afflictions due to his years spent in a POW camp. Chronic arthritis for one. If he should die he leaves us with a grossly inexperienced Palin.
If Obama should die I suspect it would be an affliction caused by the negative campaign of Palin and McCain. Theirs is a mission to insight hostility among the far right extremist. Obama however, will leave us with a competent and experience V.P.
Seems pretty clear cut to the Independents, Democrats and a rising amount of republicans.

No one really has any experience until you are the president. Clinton was a Governor, Bush was a governor, every president has advisers, you don't go at it alone.

Not only was Obama a risk 3 months ago, he was a risk 20 years ago when he began sitting in the racist, America hating Jeremiah Wright's church. And he was a risk way back in his Chicago days when he allied himself with the terrorist Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn and with "Acorn", the organization who's primary purpose is to register fradulent voters.
- 11 votes
The idea that anyone would link Obama to Ayers during his radical terrorist years when Obama was just a kid
But if you want to ask what someone was doing "back when", why don't you ask what McCain was doing before and during the Savings and Loan bail-out (remember? that was the last time we had a Republican in office for 2 terms - Reagan - and we had to bail out the rich CEOs then too). Why don't you find out what McCain's relationship was with the Keating 5, and why he wasn't prosecuted also. I guess it is good to have friends in high places.
- 6 votes
I believe McCain, don't you? He and his campaign, and his running mate, have been completely credible, no? And wait until McCain reveals more about the link between Obama and Ayers, like the fact that they've been in a gay relationship since Obama was 8 years old! All Obama needs to do is prove that he wasn't. I challenge him to prove he hasn't been "getting it on" with Ayers all these years. After all, everybody knows that those people are really, really into sex. Don't you?
- 6 votes
To Paul-246112, I agree with some of the others. Are you kidding? People are concerned about McCain's age and his health. That is why there's more discussion of his possibly not making it through a first term. Anything that would cause Obama 'not to make it' through his first term would be a tragedy because of his age and because he's in good health.

The article neglects to mention that Ayers founded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Obama was appointed Board Chair and served in one capacity or another on the board from 1988 to 1991, Obama wrote rave blurb for Ayer's book (so he must have known him somewhat better than he would like people to think)...oh yeah! Did I forget to mention that while serving as the Board Chair for CAC, he sent money to ACORN, yes, that's right, the ACORN that is currently under scrutiny for allegations of voter fraud. At the very least, his judgement is a bit questionable.
WAKE UP!!

Neither candidate is worthy of this high position based on man's view. God is not surprised at what is going on in the political field nor the economic crisis. We are so deserving of all that's occuring right now. I just feel for the next generation(s) and how we have ruined things for them. SHAME ON US ALL!! NO ONE IS EXEMPT!
McCain sure hits it right on the money for me. Let's not let our ambiguities get in the way of good judgement.

To observer- there is nothing wrong with "radical thinking". Thinking ourside the box is what built this country. Our foundering fathers were "terrorists" by today's standards.Radical thinking got us to the moon.
If you blow up a building you should suffer the consequences. But having served on a committe with a college Professor, does not equate to terrorism. Inciting fear and panic is agianst the law however, and therefore the distorted facts about Obama by the McPalin campaign are punishable by law. If you think I'm being too extreme, loo at the reaction at their rally's by someof the attendees. Frightening!

Intelligent people - the majority of Newsvine readers - will pay little to no attention to the cut-and-paste Obama-bashing messages posted by the alleged "truthseeker" and others.
According to the right-wing professional liars, Obama is a black white Muslim pseudo-Christian Arab communist socialist Marxist terrorist anti-Christ baby killer. Which, if true, definitely makes Obama an over-achiever!
This is the last gasp for the dying politics of fear.

I agree. McCain should tell us why he was a member of the group which sent military supplies to terrorist & how he was part of the Iran contra scandal during the 1980s. let's also hear more about Palien's involvement with a radical group which wants to separate from Alaska from America. is it true she spoke at one of the meetings earlier this year and then said "good job"..

Too bad the media doesn't reveal Obama's association with ACORN, the "Community Organizer's" group that is under investigation for massive voter fraud in several States and who also brought suit against banks to force them into providing sub-prime mortgages to unqualified borrowers that is at the root of the financial crisis we're going through. I suspect they'll get around to it, but only AFTER the election is over.

Reading all this reotoric talk I'm appalled. I want everybody who reads this to understand this is what I believe. When anybody who runs for office the person needs and should earn, everybody who votes for them, their vote. We as a nation need to send those people to Washington and when they go they should never represent a party but the state who sent them. We as a people do a great disservice to this country when we believe a representative or senator should represent us and and our own self centered ideals. So if you are voting for a man or woman who has earned your vote then vote for them and be happy you did because that is freedom, you have a chance to decide. Now to the gist of my rant. No one person should ever recieve a vote because of the color of ones skin.It does this country a great injustice for you to vote f that way, and it works the other way as well not voting for that person because of the color of his skin. It has all been taken into account when they selected who they selected. The people in power know what their doing and know how to manipulate the American public. If any body really believes they were apart of the selection process they need to be put away we selected who they wanted us to select. Our choices were given to us and they were only the parties choices not ours.In ending I'm pleading with you as voters to educate your self by doing the research and understanding you candidate and vote for the man or woman who EARNED your vote not the one the media is allowing you to know best. I've done it and frankly is scares me to death to vote for either candidate neither has earned my vote. I think voting in the lesser of to evils is wrong and voting for who I believe is going to win is wrong. When stepping into the both on November 4th my vote will mean something to the one its supposed to mean something to, myself because I live in America the home of the FREE and where I am unique and where the government is not suppose to remove those freedom from me. Please vote Nov 4th and remember we as a public will get the government that we voted for and not the government this country was founded under.
This election has me deeply concerned, due to the fact that both sides of this battle have serious character flaws and questionable alliances. When did this country become a two party system and why? We must all realize that a true democracy allows anyone to be voted in, yet we have, most of us at one time or another (including myself), been forced into choosing the lesser of two evils. (Now I am not saying that these men and woman are evil, per say, merely a figure of speech.) What is it in us that makes us believe that we have no other choice than these two? Are we afraid that we have to pick one or the other less the other side win when we "waste" our vote?
Perhaps, in time, enough of us will be begin to realize that "we" have the power to change this country if we begin to ignore the sound bites, turn away from the scare tactics, and decide to finally elect a person who truly represents this country, not just the face of a corporation. I for one would love to see someone in office who cares about me and not just how to make his or her buddies rich. Be that as it may, in the end we must vote with our heads and our hearts. Regardless of what the polls, radio, television, or neighbors may think, don't be afraid to voice your opinion, and for heaven's sake everyone please vote!!! Words are great, but actions are what will truly bring change!

Oh howfar the McCain folks will go to try to get everone off of what is most important and that is the economy. Those of you who believe are just as small minded as he.
If you were a true patriot then you would be asking question on the Palin's and the AIP movement. Talk about terrorism, Al Qaida could take lessens from the sickos. Why did she give a keynote speech and was fully supportive of the secession from the US.

I used to at least have some level of respect for McCain. Now he just looks desprate and is using the same techniques the Bush administration used to justify the Iraq war. Just using the the words Obama and terrorists over and over is like Bush using Iraq and terrorist and 9/11 all together over and over. Unfortunately it was an effective tactic. Probably because we still want to trust our leaders. A few months ago McCain indicated he was above this type of attacks. I'm sorry he has sunk so low.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ... I don't know who is pulling the strings for the Republican Party, but whoever it is, the time is ripe to put an end to this disgraceful campaign of John McCain and Sarah Palin. They have become an international disgrace and laughing stock to this great country. Please stop this outrage before someone is seriously injured or killed. The constant lying and deceptions of McCain and his campaign can be dealt with, but inciting followers to commit who-knows-what, is criminal. Even McCains' wife has joined the fray ... inciting the faithful about Obama voting against a military bill that McCain also voted against ... this is just ridiculous. Attacking Obamas' character through people he has met over the years is ridiculous .... especially when his running mate, Palin, has been blessed by her own witch-doctor and John himself has had many questionable relationships. It's not surprising that their poll numbers are constantly dropping, but that doesn't prevent the remaining hardcore supporters from causing a lot of damage.

What? You're not going to blame Jimmy Carter? Others in your Republican Party/Lynch Mob have! If, as you claim, Bill Clinton was responsible for this nine years ago, why didn't your Republican heroes fix it? There was a Republican President, and a Republican Congress...so why didn't they stop the evil Bill Clinton's efforts to bankrupt the country? Since they didn't, aren't they to blame?
Republicans...Conservatives...Neo-cons. Their time in authority is mere days away from being finished. So they get desperate and fling mud, try to change Obama from a Senator to a terrorist...and in the above example, impersonate Sarah Palin and change the subject. So Obama served on the board of directors, with William Ayers, of a Republican funded organization that looked into inner city schools in Chicago. Your point? Obama goes from serving on a board to a terrorist? Are you really that paranoid?
Funny...John McCain was one of the Keating 5, a group which contributed to the Savings and Loan crisis in the late '80s/early '90s. Yet you hear of that about 5% as often as you hear about William Ayers. Why is that? Could it be because Barack Obama is avoiding mudslinging, leaving that to an increasingly desperate John McCain?
I'm going to spend a couple of days at least trolling the Fox News website to rub it in that Americans have elected President Barack Obama. The Republicans will be on one hand screaming in disgust, and on the other whining about electing a terrorist. Finally I will be able, at age 52, to thumb my nose and squeal "neener neener neener!" at those poor Republicans. You know, guys...it might not have been that bad if you hadn't foisted George W. Bush on us for the past eight years...

How convenient of McCain to attack Obama for a minor involvement with a highly respected college professor on a charitable board headed by Walter Annenberg - a McCain supporter - for activities he was involved in when Obama was 8 years old, but not remember his own involvement with Charles Keating, a convicted felon partially responsible for the economic mess we are presently involved in! McCain was a Senator at the time, was fully cognizant or Keating's illegal acts and was busy trying to "help him out." Whose questionable associations should we be looking at? Who is really lying by not telling the whole truth? By the way, should we also be investigating McCain's relationship with Walter Annenberg who so respected Bill Ayers that he honored him with selection to his Charitable Board and is therefore responsible for Barak Obama's involvement with Bill Ayers? After all, Walter Annenberg was an adult and aware of Mr. Ayers actions in the '60's as well as all his contributions to education subsequent to the '60's. What a desperate act by a confused, angry old man!

WHY IS THE MEDIA , INCLUDING MSNBC, FOCUSING ON AYERS (a 1960s reformed anti-VIETNAM WAR activist). They are in bed with the Republicans and are helping them to spread lies and propaganda. I am not hear to debate anything, but just ask a general question..
I have my concerns and you have yours, most, we all agree on what we want from a president, we go thru this every election. I am not very up on everything, I don't listen to the media, they are mostly one sided. In this forum everybody fights back and forth, you right, I'm wrong.
Here goes...
Can't we organize a friendly "march" with our demands, illegal immigration, health care, taxes etc. Be it in town hall meetings, stadiums where ever, voice our wants, our concerns and if they don't deliver forget both of them. Politicans are thiefs, all of them! Remember, they work for us, we pay their salaries, their health care, their retirement. We pay for them to wine and dine. We end up just going for what we think they might be able to do in the long run, why can't we demand it, we get to vote on it, not them, take it out of their hands and put the choice back in ours.
This may be a stupid question to most of you, you are obvisouly more informed on the political way things are done, I am just a person who works on the average 10 hours a day, 6 days a week and enjoys her job, but leaves little time to watch what is going on in the real world and hoping they are doing the right thing for us, but lately all these little (actually not) things keep popping what and I am sorry, I know this board is manily for Mr. Obama, but he is just as bad as the others, and if you don't believe that, then, I feel sorry for you.
I know that it would take a lot of organization, maybe not, just put the vote out on the issue and we vote, why are our senators going to washington, we don't get what we want, we get what they want.
Like I said, this maybe a dumb question to you, but I am sure most of you have thought the same at least once or twice in your life time.

Barrack Obama is a uniquely American story. American's have gotten to know and trust him over the past two years and this slime coming out of the McCain camp will not resonate. The, mostly low-information, voter who truely believes that Obama is dangerous, an angry black man, a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer is minescule compared to those who simply seek to exploit any issue out of hate, racism and/or politics. We have sunk to an all time low and it's a truly sad day for our great country.

John McCain has more reason to love this country than we can imagine. To truly appreciate how great this country is, and how important it's values are...after being left for dead, and isolated for months on end with no human contact, in a foreign country that opposes everything we stand for...until finally his country comes to his rescue and saves his life, and restores his freedom.
Say what you want about John McCain...but this man has the most true and pure form of love for this country that a man can have.
I think we can all agree that the economy is the number one issue on most people’s mind, so let's look at this.
Unemployment rates are rising, and the national dept is going through the roof. The number one thing we can do to stop this is to create new jobs, keep large companies from moving out of our country, and attracting new corporations to the U.S. to create jobs, increase gross national product, and reduce import.
Before we look at how McCain will fix this, we need to touch base on a few things. We need to understand that most company profits are around the 10% range...including oil companies. Right now, America's corporate tax rate is at 35%...this is the third highest in the world! The average corporate tax rate in Europe and most of the world is 25%.
This difference in taxation is equal to their entire profit margin...the difference of thriving...and going out of business. Why would you do business here when you can set up across the pond and ship your products here for less?
McCain proposes to lower the corporate tax rate to 25% so that we can be competitive with the rest of the world. This is the number one way we can create new jobs, increase export, and lower import....all of which reduces the national dept.
Obama proposes we raise the corporate tax rate by eliminating corporate tax loop holes. This equates to holding the door open for those companies who decide to hop the pond...this is the #1 thing you can do to reduce jobs in America!
Right now the stock market is really messed up, the only way for the market to recover, is to get people to invest their money in it. You're almost certain to lose your money if you do invest..but if by a chance you're lucky enough to actually make some money...
Obama wants to raise the profit gains tax from 15% to 20 or 25%...how does this encourage people to invest? When the market crashes...everyone's...everyone's 401K's and IRA's lose money...that's everyday Joe blows losing money. There sure are a bunch of people making less than $250,000 that invest in the market...is it really only a tax increase on the rich?
Next, let's look at the estate tax. When you succeed in life, and you want to pass along your wealth or estate to your children...the government wants to take your hard earned money to redistribute your wealth to the less fortunate. This means when a farm owner dies...uncle Sam wants his 45-55% cut...the only way that family might be able to pay....is to sell their farm, or small business that your family built from the ground up...rather than passing along your legacy to your children. Bush's estate tax cut has lowered it to 45%...but it's set to expire in 2011...and will return to 55%.
Why should the government have any claim to this money at all...you've already paid income tax, social security, etc?
John McCain proposes lowering the estate tax from 45% to 15%...and raise the exempt amount to$10 million.
Barack Obama now supports leaving it at 45%...but previously stated he wanted to raise it to 55%...who's the real Obama?
Let's not forget about NAFTA, the north American free trade agreement between Canada, US, and Mexico. McCain plans to honor the agreement which is trilateral in nature; the terms apply equally to all countries. This promotes fare and balanced import and exports, opening the markets for people to expand their businesses, create new jobs, and obtain products from others at low prices.
Obama wishes to renegotiate the NAFTA agreement to place tariffs to ensure work and environmental standards are adhered to. I understand the motivation, we all want to save the environment...but this will mean we are dishonoring an international agreement, and seriously thwarting trade due to increased cost .. and therefore hurting the economy.
Obama has taken a stance on both sides of this issue, supporting renegotiation first, then backtracking. He either got it wrong the the first time (like the surge), he's flipped on it...or we don't really know what he wants because we don't know who the real Obama is.
As if the budget isn't bloated enough...
Obama wants to cure poverty around the world by committing 0.7% of the entire GDP to give to foreign countries...above and beyond the largest increase in foreign aid funding ever introduced...under the Bush administration.
This plan would be a whopping $845 billion over the next 13 years. This is almost an entire dollar of every 100 dollars each and every one of us makes. This is mandatory redistribution of wealth...but it's the worst kind...it's not even for Americans!!!
You won't find this in the DNC talking points - it really hurts their class warfare tactics:
--The top 1% already pays 39.9% of the tax burden.
-The top 40% pay 99.4% of the income taxes while the bottom 40% RECEIVE 3.8% through tax "credits": That means they got money back on net from the federal income tax system, rather than paying money.
This isn't a tax break for 95% of the people...it's an increase in well fare to the 40% of Americans who pay no tax...who are not the productive members of society. This is a socialist welfare plan...are we figuring out who the real Obama is yet?
What Obama doesn't understand, is that positive reinforcement of failure, promotes failure.
What Obama doesn't understand, is that creating a scenario of diminishing returns...causes people to lose all motivation to succeed in life beyond mediocrity.
McCain doesn't want to force the rich into the middle class...he wants to enable and encourage the middle class to become rich!
VOTE MCCAIN!!!!

Mccain and company are behaving in a very, very dishonorable way.. .they are acting in a desperate fashion...they do not have a platform of reform, it's just the same old bush policies the same deceptive tactics. Cindy mccain was dispicable her account of Obama voting against armour for her son, untrue false and the part about having Obama walk in her shoes...a chill down her spine...what is that?? mccain voted on the same bill the only difference mcain did not have a time frame to get out of Iraq and Obama's did..shame, shame on you mccain.
I recently read the Rolling Stone Article on mccain, pretty interesting...it really does outline his character, or lack of it. It now makes more sense than ever. His unpolicies are now clearer than ever.
Mccain is a desperate candidate and palin is ever worse... the polls are showing that the American People are tired of the mcsame..

Housing foreclosures are at an all time high. Retirement accounts are disappearing before our very eyes. We are taxed coming and going. Every day 15 to 30 % of the fruits of are labor are garnished by the Federal government. We pay federal taxes on many of the goods and services that we purchase. As if that was not enough, the Federal Reserve is adding "liquidity" or printing money and injecting credit into the market at an historic rate! That is INFLATION. Ben Barnacle (sp), Federal Reserve chairman recently testified under oath that, "… inflation is a tax"… … The bailout packages passed by congress are another form of inflation. And contrary to the doublespeak, these bailouts do not benefit the average American, unless, of course, you are a "major" shareholder in an International Bank. Do not be fooled, this is not a Democrat or a Republican issue. The finger pointing is a distraction from the real culprit, the Federal Reserve, the international bankers (and their influence over the governments of the world), and the FIAT money system. The Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, has been given a blank check to bail out his International Banker friends, whose policies have created this economic crisis, and then put them in charge of administering the flow of money!!!... Sounds like the fox is still running the henhouse!
The ground work for this economic recession, collapse, depression, (whatever label you want to apply to it) was laid in 1913 when President Woodrow Wilson signed into law The Federal Reserve Act. The Federal Reserve is not part of the government! It is a private banking cartel. And as a result, we are now witnessing the largest consolidation of financial power in the history of the world.
"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is privately concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated, governments in the civilized world—no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of small groups of dominant men." - Woodrow Wilson, reflecting on passage of the Federal Reserve Act
Chances are, that your representative voted "YES" on the most recent bailout bill. That is, even after receiving an historic amount of calls, emails, and faxes. Those calls, faxes and emails represented the voice of the informed constituents, at an overwhelmingly 8-2 or 9-1 against in every Congressional and Senatorial district across the country! Did your representative vote "YES"? Or did they vote "NAY"? Send a message to the International Banking community and to Capitol Hill. Let them know, that they may be controlled by the creators of "Money and Credit", but "We the People" will no longer be beholden to them! Vote out all of the Scoundrels who voted "YES", and beware of the false "NAYS". Please campaign vigorously for fiscally responsible challengers, and 3rd party candidates in your district and state, as though your future and FREEDOM depend on it. Elect only representatives who will vow to repeal these insidious fascist and socialist bailout programs; who will uphold their oath to protect and defend the Constitution and restore the Republic to the FREE market economy our forefathers intended.
You have 3 short weeks to make a difference. Join the Revolution at Knock on doors, call your neighbor, organize a town hall, take back your district, take back the HOUSE, take the message of FREEDOM viral and then together we will take back the country!

Response to Observer's comment:
Perhaps you should look up the meaning of "radical"?? It certainly fits a lot of people - good and bad.
Besides, Bill Ayers was never convicted of anything, so what is the point? His public views may have sounded awful or unamerican but there were a lot of other angry words spoken during the Vietnam War. Ayers was a young man at that time and Obama was only about 8 years old. I bellieve Obama when he said that he didn't really know Ayers when he met him in the charitable organization meeting. If Ayers is considered a "terrorist" I doubt that he would still be working for the University of Chicago. Read Major Domo's comments above for more insight about Bill Ayers.
Like in Viet Nam, we should all be more vocal about getting involved in Iraq too!!

I guess I'm a terrorist radical. My Grandma and 12 year old cousin is associated with ACORN and my father in law is a Muslim. My name isn't a traditional European American name and I don't look like the traditional person running for president. I guess you can say that about over 50% of the population.

Let's just hope McCain's supporters don't convince themselves to "blow anybody up," huh?
Amazing how concerned the Obama supporters are for his safety....and at the same time have no problem at all that Obama is linked to so many hateful, violent, racist people. How ironic.
Extremism in any group or situation is always dangerous. That's why I could never support Obama. He is too far left, his associations (the people who have put him in power and want him to be elected) are some of the most extreme/radical/dishonest/violent characters in the news. Why are these characters such loyal supporters of Barak Obama? Aren't you people even curious? He continues to lie about the associations and pretends to denounce these people. You Obama kool-aid drinkers are in grave danger of being used to usher in a socialist society that will make our founding fathers spin in their graves!
The country has not been divided by McCain's or Palin's words....1/2 the country has been begging and pleading with them to step up and tell THE TRUTH about what Obama is all about. We have pleaded with them to expose Obama's for his extremist / socialist / radical views. Obama has zero chance of "uniting" our country because there are just too many people who disagree with his far-left view and refuse to fall for his "charismatic" rhetoric no matter how pretty or dignified he is.
Farrakhan believes Obama is the Messiah. How spooky is that, people?
This country is divided....period. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with idealogy and "world views." You can bet your ass Obama wants to change our government and our country...and our world.....but it's not a change I want anything to do with.
McCain is not smearing he is trying to tell you the TRUTH about a radical marxist with a long line of America hating friends. You people are either blind, stupidor evil.Obamais all of the above.

BRAVO!!! McCain is a senile narcissist who will fall for anything in the course of standing for nothing.
Obama is a leader who has identified the measures this country needs in order to effect the types of changes which will benefit MOST Americans...not a select and wealthy few! McCain is woefully out of touch with "the rest of us..." he and that ditzy pit bull he chose as his running mate are headed for the scrap pile of political failures. We're clearly in crisis now, and "trickle-down" economics really don't cut it!

Obama supporters are either blind, in denial, or a toy and fries short of a happy meal. Refer to truthseeker's post, - Fri Oct 10, 2008 12:52 PM EDT. Can't you people see the pattern here? I am not ready to risk having someone like Obama have full access to the launch codes. I am simply not ready to take a chance. He is nothing but a hypocrite with a prolific speech writer on his payroll. I am not Caucasian, so you can't label me as racist towards Obama. Besides, if Colin Powell was in the race, I would vote for him.

Does anyone understand Barry's logic?
Since he was only eight years old at the time of Bill Ayers terrorist activities, he assumed he was now "rehabilitated?"
Then you cannot fault my logic:
Since I was not yet born when Hitler ravaged Europe, I assume he has since been "rehabilatated."
Either statement assumes the culprit is now okay?

just a thought - if the country under Obama is not something you want to be part of - leave - cause "change" is coming. McCain is attempting to do exactly what this article says, divide the country. Polarize the nation and confuse the issue, so we won't see that he has nothing to offer this country.
By using enuindoes and out right lies, he fuels the flames of racism and intolerance.. I once thought that McCain was good for this country and had he won the 2004 nomination, I probably would have voted for him. But after seing him in action now, I am very very dissapointed.
If McCain wants to play the Guilt by Association game, then he also needs to expound on he & Palin's ties with:
the Alaska Independence Party
Charles Keating
Richard Quinn
Joe Vogler
John Singlaub
Joe Vogler
Thomas Muthee
etc
A likely scenario if McCain wins, is that due to health reasons or AIP instigated secret assasination made to look like natural causes, he will die at some point into his 1st term. (after-all, the AIP platform is independence from the USA by military arms if necessary!)
Hence bringing Palin to power. And due to her stupidity, having little to zero chance of re-election, shortly before her term ends, she , Todd & the A.I.P. will engineer a presidential decree declaring Alaska independent. And right after a sizable chunk of our nuclear deterrent is moved to Alaska & placed under the authority of the governor-turned-president/dictator of Alaska.
Which invariably will be Sarah, Todd or a senior AIP leader.
Just something to think about & to ask McCain/Palin about at their rallies.

Honestly, a 1960's issue in 2008? Obvious - that they are certainly out of touch! Obama exudes control and passion for our country. Iradic Republicans need to go to the back of the stage. Stand up Americans for a new direction, that we can all contribute.
The Shawn Hannity hate mongering and race bating stirs up the crowd, and the candidates feed on it at their rallies. As a lifelong registered Republican, I am ashamed of the Grand Old Party of Lincoln and Reagan. When million dollar a month radio radical entertainers replace the formality and civility of our National political process, and the "pride" of our party buys in fully out of desperation to win at all costs, is not all in fact lost. Hannity, McCain, Palin: Ask yourselves truthfully, who really are Great Americans? Certainly not any of you. You truly have become terrorists.
John, you think of yourself as an honorable man. With all due respect, sir, you are not. David Duke demonstrated more respect and honor in his foray into politics than you are showing now. Palin is a fool, and Hannity gets paid big bucks to spew his poison. You, sir, with your experience and your history have no excuse whatsoever.
This is for all those that love this country and are tired of the evil thread that has been coming from the Republican party lately. So I will say this with a loud voice:
WE MUST GET OUT AND VOTE. ALTHOUGH THE POLLS ARE SHOWING AN UPSWING FOR OBAMA, IT WILL DO NO GOOD IF WE DON'T GET OUT THERE ON NOVEMBER 4, AND VOTE.
SO, NO MATTER WHAT'S GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE ON THAT DAY; GET OUT THERE AND VOTE. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE STAND UP AND TELL THE DESPISCABLE REPUBLICAN PARTY WITH ALL THEIR VILE HATRED; THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND WE WILL EXPRESS THIS WITH OUR VOTE.
NOW GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!!!!!!!!
FROM A FACT CHECK.ORG EMAIL SENT TODAY:
McCain cranks out some false and misleading attacks on Obama's connection to a 1960s radical.
Summary
In a TV ad, McCain says Obama "lied" about his association with William Ayers, a former bomb-setting, anti-war radical from the 1960s and '70s. We find McCain's claim to be groundless. New details have recently come to light, but nothing Obama said previously has been shown to be false.
In a Web ad and in repeated attacks from the stump, McCain describes the two as associates, and Palin claims they "pal around" together. But so far as is known, their relationship was never very close. An Obama spokesman says they last saw each other in a chance encounter on the street more than a year ago.
McCain says in an Internet ad that the two "ran a radical 'education' foundation" in Chicago. But the supposedly "radical" group was supported by a Republican governor and included on its board prominent local civic leaders, including one former Nixon administration official who has given $1,500 to McCain's campaign this year. Education Week says the group's work "reflected mainstream thinking" among school reformers. The group was the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, started by a $49 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation, which was established by the publisher Walter Annenberg, a prominent Republican whose widow, Leonore, is a contributor to the McCain campaign.

It is truly a sad day in America, when you have a bitter old man trying to get Americans to spew out the venom of hatred epithets in a gathering. How dare Palin and McCain go to the lowest point a Human being who has any decency go to! Shame on them both! I hope and pray that folks will see that he is a racist and a man who I don not trust to run this country. He had the crowds screaming to kill OBAMA. I feel that by McCain and Palin causing such a anger and it could of gotten real ugly that this should be criminally looked into. There is no excuse to get a free pass for slander someones integrity based on speculations, and for trying to facilitate threatening comments that cause harm and possible action from people who are extreme and mentally unbalanced. Look at our history. JFK? Lincoln? Do we see my point?
i have to say that i read these blogs and i have to wonder what happened to the brains in our great country. If you want to know who blowbama really is, and i'm sure that some of you have enough intellengence to want to know, then you look at his friends. that would be a start. if you dont want to do that then ask yourself a question. I am really hearing everything there is to know about Hussain Blowbama? i will answer that for you. no you are not. but its not to hard to figure out.. evern if you read between the lines of his own words. he is nothing more than a anti american , anti white racist. he is bad all the way through. you people should really use some of the brains that you have and read some of the things that he has done while working for us. yes he does work for us as americans. while u are at it check out his books where he talks about "the white" people. i'm hoping that John MCcain takes the gloves off this next debate. How about talking about a FACTUAL story about Mccain linked to Singlaub's council ? This council was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America.McCain has said previously he resigned from the council in 1984 and asked in 1986 to have his name removed from the group's letterhead. Why was Mccain in this council, is Mccain a true terrorist? who is Mccain? How about talking about this Guys? Come on and be fair!

McCain was deeply involved in the Contra death squad movement financed secretly by Reagan and the right wing thugs who still control the government. McCain and other right wingers funded this terrorist organization who tortured and slaughtered thousands of innocent people in El Salvador and Nicaragua, who notoriously raped and killed nuns, all for the sake of United Fruit Company now known as Chiquita brand. There is a well known story that when McCain was on a "diplomatic" mission in Central America of his lifting a Sandinista representative out of his chair by his collar. McCain has no business calling anyone a terrorist. He funded terrorists, he supported terrorists, he armed terrorists and when he had a chance he joined in on the intimidation being waged by the terrorists.

TO YOU:
HALT- This issue in the market is the delayed time bomb that was planted by the Clinton administration (New York Times, Sept 30, 1999) and Congress pressuring Fannie Mae to give sub-prime (unqualified people) mortgages to the low income and minorities unable to meet loan criteria. The evil man does lives on after them, ticking bombs will explode, extremist racists may lie, but the truth comes out eventually.
Let's see you liberals cite the basis for your wild assumptions.
You must really be ignorant not to know the it was Phil Gramm (Republican Congressman) who wrote the bill and convinced his party and Clinton to sign onto passing it and he was McCain's Economic Advisor until this was found out and put in the public domain. Then and only then did McCain fire Gramm and tried to dis-associate himself from him. But McCain still advocates Gramm's policy on the economy and that is why to this day McCain does not know anything about it himself. And is reflected in all the polls. Look it up!!
HALT! Now about Cllinton: In his private life he was an embarassment to the Country, but in his policies he was EXCEPTIONAL! When he left office there was a $3 Trillion Dollar Surplus, everybody was working, the economy was thriving, healthcare was affordable.
Did you ever ask yourself what happened to the $3 Trillion Dollar Surplus that was left to a Republican Party? That plus giving us one of the GREATEST DEFICITS in the HISTORY of the United States of America. Add those two amounts together and who do you now blame for the mess we are in??
Is that enough citing from the liberal side to make any sense to you conservatives??
You are right on this: The evil man does lives on after them, ticking bombs will explode, and his name is to be shouted, McCain, McCain, McCain. This is in reference to his stance on using the SMEAR/FEAR character assassination ploy, (because he has not new ideas to put forth, just the old tired policies he wants us to follow that put us where we are now) and his stance on the wars we are now waging and the wars to come in the future. Why can't you see what is in front of your face???????
If you really want to bring up some past associations, (Keating 5 just one for instance)) or where to put the blame. Just Google John McCain on any subject and I think you will have a new outlook on Party's and their politics.
There are many more subject to be cited, if you want more!!

Truthseeker, I've seen your list before. Obama is his own man. He comes from a diverse background of many cultures and levels of education and finances. He speaks with and listens to everyone - even silly guys like you. These people you list do not formulate his policy positions. They just add to the complexityof his thought processes, and help him be more aware of varied approaches to the same questions.
I have many friends and relatives that I disagree with, but talk to them all the time. That has not caused me to change my views. I knew many "wild" people inthe 1960's and 1970's, but that has not kept me from a very stable and conservative lifestyle or solid values. For me, it has helped me understand how others arrive at their ideas - even if I disagree.
That understanding is the kind Obama has. It will help him build consensus, and hopefully bring this nation back together. Too much screaming and finger-pointing, not enough ethics and solutions. Too much fear and anger. Not enough energy put into rebuilding things.
I'll be SO glad when the neo-cons are out of the White House. They are ripping this place apart.

MCCAIN IS A TERRORIST!
All he is trying to do is create hate among the American people. If he can fire up someone enough to take out Obama then he is all for that. He knows that his only chance to win is if Obama is killed by one of his fired up supporters. McCain needs to be suppressed because he is creating his own little army based on false accusations leveled at Obama.
PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS MAN OR HIS TACTICS. HIS HATE WILL ONLY CARRY OVER INTO HIS OFFICE AND WILL CAUSE GREAT HARM TO THIS COUNTRY.
SAVE OUR ONLY HOPE FOR THIS COUNTRY AND MAKE MCCAIN STOP!!!!!

For those of you interested in Palin's connections to the Alaska Independence Party, here's a link to a very informative Salon feature story http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/10/10/palin_chryson/. The scariest part comes at the end, when a speaker at a national conference of secessionist groups holds up Palin as a model of "infiltration" into mainstream politics. Gulp.
I don't believe everything I read, but if even half of this is true it's way more damning than anything about Ayers or Rev. Wright.
KEATING FIVE!!

- 17 votes
You think that "Keating" compares with Obama's alliances with a Communist terrorist who tried to blow-up the Pentagon and to kill people ? You think that Obama's 20 year relationship with the racist, America hating Jeremiah Wright are comparable ? If you do, I can only think that you confirm the theory that "liberalism" is a mental disorder.

You are so right, Ron. The Keating scandal, which Senator McCain was found (by fellow Senators) to have only exercised "poor judgment" in (not actually violating Senate rules or behaving improperly by accepting vacations and campaign contributions, and appearing on Keating's behalf before federal regulators of the failing S & L, despite the CONFLICT that his wife had invested in at least one business with Keating) actually wiped out investors, and employees pensions, and cost U.S. taxpayers tons of $$.
Senator Obama's sitting on a board with Professor Ayers (against whom federal charges had to be dropped due to prosecutorial misconduct) over 20 years ago, and sitting in a church--no matter how you view the pastor--until recently, did not.
That is kind of the point. They are not comparable--one if them actually involved acts that RUINED people, but not the people who were responsible for the whole mess, but had Senator McCain on their side--U.S. taxpayers made sure of that. Not by choice.
I haven't had the heart or the time to check out the Iran-Contra connection, if there is one, but that would certainly be much worse than sitting on a charity board or sitting in a church, too. Some people went to prison for that, remember? Officials in OUR government sponsoring drug running? Gun running? Supporting a terrorist insurgency against a democratically elected government that we didn't like in South America? IF there is any truth there there is a connection to Senator McCain, yes, WORSE.

May be Wright should move to Alaska and met Palin's friend that wants to burn our flag and hate America. Palin's husband is a member of the group and she too was a particpant at a rally. While we, are at it McCain's skirts are not clean either, you need to check out some of us friends. The problem is that Republicans have ruined the country and still they want to control, why? Hell 4 more years of this, we may not have a country. The middle class and the poor need a break, we are all Americans not just the rich. We pay taxes, work, we fight for our country, we die for our country by God we too deserve a break. McCain cares nothing for our plight he was never poor, his heritage was being the son of an Admiral, and that meant prestiage . I don't envy riches, hell, I'd like some myself but what good is it to look after a few and crush the many? We fight wars to prevent that, or we use too. The old tired drama of Rev. Wright is useless, the poor man is somewhere trying to get his soul saved because republicans thinks he's a Black KKK. We all know that organization does not allowered black. I saw the video of Palin's friend in Alaska, and he sounded very much like a klansman. The US should be worried about that, Wright could never have an organization armed with fire power like Palin's friends could be, plus killing wolves from a plane gives one good target skills. If Alaska under her watch ever sucede from the union I hope they send all of the people who is singing her appraises as though she were Joan of Arc.

The McCain-Palin campaign has exhonorated Palin of any wrong doing. "written by a campaign staff" member...???
Can they be serious?
After this horrendous campaign, how is McCain going to return to the Senate? He has no shred of decency left. Hate mongering. Lies and innuendos. POOR JUDGEMENT in circumventing his own vetting process to pick a seccessionist in Republican clothing for his vice presidential nominee. Who in the Senate will trust him?
And what are the Republicans going to do when Sarah, the person he catapulted to national fame, wants to run for president? Where will McCain be then? Up the proverbial creek with no moral compass to guide him.

Karl Rove who is the brains behind McCain's smear campaign, in 2000 when McCain ran against Bush, labeled McCain as a coward and a traitor. Rove stated that McCain told the enemy everything he knew about America's plans (for special treatment) which led to many Americans getting killed in Viet Nam. I have no idea if McCain did this or not but I know for a fact Rove accused him of it. This is the same Karl Rove that McCain now has running his smear campaign against Obama. I have a very difficult time understanding why McCain would use this guy. It does however help understand why McCain's ads bring up the POSSIBLE links Obama has with questionable people but McCain does not bring it up in a face to face debate. Look back since the economic meltdown at the number of times McCain and Palin have mentioned Ayers and nothing on the real issues we have now or a plan for our future. All McCain says is that he knows how to fix things but never shares them with us.

The real message that needs to be out in front of the voters at this point and it is an iceberg in the water.. is actual voting. And no one is talking about it.. and we in the blogs sphere need to be shouting it from the roof tops.. and that is VOTE NOW!!!! On Nov 4th.. we are going to have an unmitigated disaster and they only way to avoid it or at least minimize it is EARLY voting.. never mind the stuff about Ayers.. it's noise.. if you want Obama to win .. you have to vote.. and I am telling you.. you have to vote NOW. No one is talking about the millions of new voters all heading to the polling booth at the same time.. it just won't work.. take the hour now and go vote.. we have made up our mind.. the rest of the rhetoric is just noise.. VOTE and do it TODAY.

I'm talking about it. My county in Florida has gone back to paper ballots, and I am very happy about it. There will be no dispute in my county. Further, I will be able to go back a week later, and verify that my vote was counted. Now, that is the american way.

You can expect, in heavily Republican states, for there to be short supplies and long lines for voting in the more Democratic areas. That certainly happened last time in Ohio. Cleveland polls had two-hour lines. In Republican suburbs, voters were in and out in fifteen minutes.
If you live in Virginia, for example, that is a new battleground state, you can guarantee that any poll that runs out of ballots will be in a Democratic area. The longest lines will be in a Democratic area.
Of course, early ballots might not be counted, either. Because those need extra scrutiny, dontchaknow.

Missy - agree, but you must be new to newsvine - thats all McCain supporters do is post over and over and over again that Obama is a terrorist, liar, crook, thief, I have even seen baby killer and murderer etc...
Seems they want to ignore the fact that McCain is also pro-abortion. Tell all your friends, neighbors, relatives, co-workers etc they HAVE TO VOTE OBAMA because anti-abortionists are the worst SINGLE ISSUE VOTERS there are - forget foreign policy, forget economic policy, forget any other social issue but one - abortion. They would vote for a crook, liar, thief, or even murderer if they hit the pulpit denouncing abortion.
And these are the same neo-con right wing anti-abortionists who could care less that we started a war that killed 200,000 plus men, women, children and BABIES 1/2 way around the world all to depose one man - Saddam - wheres the justice in that??

Their campaign lack the American Dream in fact it's the American Nightmare. How can they continue to spread lies about this issue and then come up with their own exoneration for Palin. Can we say above the Law out of touch wanna be mavericks with no solutions to the real problem we are facing you got to be kidding me that these people are still in the running ...McCain would like to put the USA back 70 years where people where divided, instead of bringing people together....You betcha same ol thang....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Obama and Biden will definitely get my vote as well as my families due to the CHANGE and VISION he has for the American future.
My wife and I use to admire McCain. Both for his heroism and because we thought he was truly a "maverick" of sorts. The way Bush/Rove treated him in 2000 was despicable. Now we find that it was all BS from McC He is no better than Rove or Bush or Cheney. His followers sound like illiterate, redneck, racist pigs. A year ago, had the election taken place and McCain had won, many DEMS would have accepted him. No longer! He has proven to be the same low-life as those he once condemned. He may have his mindless followers fooled, but not me and not most of the country. My biggest fear is that he and his thugs (like that dummy cop) somehow perform the ol' Florida run-around and fix some key states.

I, too, once respected McCain. He seemed to value the Constitution and the values of Franklin, Jefferson and Adams. He seemed concerned about the undue influence of corporations and big money interests.
Now, he has "drunk the kool-aid" and is espousing the Neo-Con agenda of divisive politics and using hatred to motivate political action. Further, he has become the mouthpiece of the forces who most would destroy America: Capitalists!
All the old religions used tio have a list of sins, or vices, or evils if you will... Always, jelousy, envy, desire and greed topped those lists. Don't you agree? So what is Capitalism, in the final analysis? Greed. Money motive. Profits. Bottom line.
When McCain was against the hands of the wealthy stuffing the ballot box, I certainly admired him. But he is no longer that man. He has captiulated to the "Golden Rulers" of America (as in "He who has the gold makes the rules.")
Obama is certainally something new in American politics. And I can understand why Americans who have been told lies about minorities have suspicions. And why such people are easily "spooked" by images of "the White house will become the Black house."
I urge you, who are reading this to consider the larger picture. Barack Obama cares about our children and our future. Whatever experience he may have, or not have, he has our interests at heart.
Compare that to McCain and Pallin, who have the interests of the big money lobby as their prime concern. They will let their followers lie, cheat and commit fraud, "anything for the cause."
Obama and Biden care about you and me and our children.
McCain and Pallin are just the latest stooges for the big oil money.
So I do not care that Obama is not "like me" in skin color, because it is more important that he is "like me" in valuing our future.

I think that McCain/ Palin will look back on these short months of campaigning, and not even recognize themselves when it is all over. I understand that it's politics, but it saddens me where they have gone with it. It is so embarrassing to our Country and our children. By the way, I hope Gov. Palin keep her children away from their rallies and the television, because I think they would be really disturbed by the things they hear, and see their mom doing and supporting from the audience. I think she is really going to be judged harder than McCain. A lot of people will be suffering behind this campaign that they have run; and there will be a lot of shame going around. Truly, all we can say is God Bless America.
The old mcBush doesn't care that capitalism is going down the toilet he just want to belittle Obama and in the mean time we get to watch a stupid politician he really is and just how much he cares about the people of this country, he has no answers just mud slinging. I thought the economy was the biggest problem that we have now!! What we need to do is create jobs. By lowering the corporate tax (35%, second highest in the world), companies could invest in new equipment, hire more people, etc. Right now with unions making it impossible for US companies to compete and a high corporate tax rate, why would any company want to start up in the US? They can go toIreland that has an 11% corporate tax rate. If we can lower ours, more businesses can start up, more people can get jobs and this will create more tax revenue. It's fairly simple. If you tax companies more (like Obama will), companies will leave the US and jobs will be lost. Please people think hard about what is important.
I think this war hero bit is a little over used. I personaly know a vet from Viet Nam who did some very brave thing's and was hailed as a hero when he returned home. The man is a drunken wifebeater that has never been able to hold a job or support his family. I am not taking away his war hero status but it certainly does not prove he is an honorable man.

Dave 267764,
Please consider this alternate view. On the surface, the logic of your argument seems like it would be sound (although the tax rate actually PAID is not that high) and that's why so many people used to believe in the trickle-down economic theory. But, it's failed under Reagen, Bush I and Bush II and there are reasons for that. The first, IMHO, is the human tendency toward greed. Picture a group of execs at a big company and they've just found out they've made a big profit this year. Do they usually give the employees who made that profit a big bonus? No, they give themselves a big bonus and plan how they can cut employees and get everyone to work harder or outsource them so they can make bigger profits next year and get bigger bonuses. There are other reasons but I think this is the main reason trickle down fails and will fail again if we elect McCain. The middle class sinks further and further into poverty and the country is weakened. The middle class stops being able to spend and companies of all size start to fail.
Obama has stated his plan clearly. Read them and you will see that he understands the need to put in place policy that strengthens both small and medium business & the middle class without destroying large business (yes, some CEOs will get smaller bonuses). Middle class becomes strong, more people move from poverty level to middle class, they spend, it flows up--win-win. A strong economy. (Yes, I know that's going to take awhile from where we are now).
We've given the old trickle down more than enough chances to prove it doesn't work. Really look at Obama's economic plan. It is an excellent one.

3 of my Obama voting friends have changed their votes because of the constant Racism charge the Obama camp seems to be using. Many people get offended by that. It's not a term to use lightly, or when you feel like your in a bind. It's a term that deserves a little more respect. It's been thrown around too "liberally" (yes Pun intended) See Obama needs all races to help him win, So Sometimes using the race card blows right back up in your face. I think it's very sad and wonder how Obama would feel about all this cowardly race card crap. Seems he's at least respectable enough not to go there. Maybe he should tell his supporters. we need to be careful about constantly acusing people of this in the incorrect context. It belittles the meaning for when the word really needs to be used.

I have a question. After reading the threats and hearing the same from the Republican rallies, could Obama's life be truly in danger? What if the worst happens, what is the next step? Does the VP candidate become the front runner or does it revert back to the peoples choice of Hillary.
This is a really sad time that our leadership is promoting violence from their supporters. How can a person shout such vile things and not be arrested? If you even mention anything about fear on board a plane you are taken into custody!!

I agree that something should have been done to those people. but by continuing to bring attention to what those people did, you are by defualt making them famous and therefore enciting more racisim and anger. If that's what you want to do and if that is your goal, by all means keep talking about it. It will be just as much your fault if that should happen. If people would let these wack jobs fade off into the back round, they wouldnt even get the joy of being recognized. Stop giving them the power. It's not worth it. Dont forget who's obvious side the media is on. Like i said before, there will always be a few nut bags in every crowd. No reason to go blaming that on McCain and Palin. Your just hungry to jump to that conclusion and pull the race card. We arent buying what you are selling. Sorry. Once again, racisim on either side is foul, but the more attention you bring to 2 butbags, the worse you make the situation. Go ahead, make these guys famous. Racism can only survive if you let it. Apparently that's your goal.

What's the normal percentage of African Americans voting democrat without a black nominee?
History tells us that since FDR, African Americans have continually voted Democrat, why? Because the GOP has always been associated with old money that they'd rather not let minorities get a hold of. On top of that, GOP centric publications, such as "The Wall Street Journal," will lead you to believe that our current credit crunch is attributed to failed policies put into place by the Carter administration. That of course is wrong. What does that have to do with this discussion? Only that the democratic party has historically been more sympathetic to the minority cause than the GOP.
Additionally, no one in Obama's crowd has called for the death of John McCain. Why because "Angry White Men" go to McCain rallies. Why are they angry? Because they're out of their comfort zone.
One last thing. Before you start typing next time, gather yourself. You sound like a raving maniac with poor grammar and worse typing skills.
- 2 votes
There's obviously no reasoning with you. You can have your racisim that you want so much. as for me, I'm moving on. Not letting racism drag me down. I'm not going to be a victim to it. But you can feel free to do so. That's your personal decision.

Dear McCain,
"To thine own self be true." I am sorry that you took the lower road - doing and saying anything to get yourself elected. You were once a man who had his own ideas and myself as an Independent was looking forward to a great campaign race. But.... look what has happened. Instead of choosing a qualified VP (and one that would have been your complement), you chose Palin. A backwoods politician bringing that type of behavior to the rest of the world. What were you thinking? And Cindy McCain - your behavior of crying over Obama voting no for troop funding when you knew full well your OWN husband voted no also. And, the no vote from Obama was because there was no exit strategy. You will never be a dignified first lady and we won't even go down the road of prescription pain pill addiction (that might have been forgiven). The rational and sophisticated US population watched your stunt and was appalled. The fact you, Palin and Sen McCain allow the hate to flow and a riot-like behavior to continue is beyond astounding. Sen McCain - your dignity is gone. How sad.

Why can't the McCain camp get off of this stupid Ayers thing? Obama and his family have been vetted for four years now and everything has already been discussed and analyzed about his life. There's nothing new to discuss. He has been cleared of any wrong doings that show bad character on his part. He has shown no more bad judgment in his life than McCain has. There are a lot of things in McCain's past that can be brought up, so he'd better watch out about raising doubts about Obama's judgment and character. McCain/Palin take issue with Obama's truthfullness. Their own ads attacking Obama are full of lies and information taken out of context. Shameful, but I guess it's their last hope of turning people against Obama. I still think it will backfire, though. It is the issues that most people care about, and attack ads that go way over the top are very unbecoming.

It's like a SNL skit, the McCain camp announces 'SARAH PALIN CLEARS SELF!' you can't make this stuff up....
Campaign staffers have supplied PROOF of her innocence! then when the actual report is published, they say - NEVER MIND.

As each day goes by, the McCain campaign with its visits to meetings with right wing radicals and its inciting of this angry right wing radical mob looks more like a KKK organizing committee rather than a campaign for the Office of the President of the United States.

John McCain when he was prisoner in Hanoi, he talked with the Communist. So, that's makes John McCain a communist with ties to Hanoi. Sarah Palin had talked with the American Independence Party that wants to succeed from the 49 states of American and calls the United States a Communist country, so, that makes her radical. We should call John McCain......Hanoi John and Sarah.....Radical Sarah

Monk - lets not forget the 32 propoganda tapes that McCain did for the Vietcong that are not classified by the Pentagon as top secret by his Daddy....
If thats not associating with the enemy or terrorists or whatever you want to call them then I dont know what is....
No, Obama has NOT been vetted. When asked about Ayers, he lied and said comments re. "living in neighborhood," and "committee." Then CNN caught him red(pun intended)-handed in the lie, as broadcast by two other people who were in Ayers' living room.
They withheld Michelle's racist, hate-filled Princeton thesis as long as they could. Her background beliefs seem similar to Rev. Wright's. And now Obama has the nerve to claim that McCain is dividing the country.
Let's see...North Carolina black vote about 95% for Obama, 5% for the much more qualified H. Clinton. Not racist or divisive, eh?
Where is the vetting of Obama's affirmative action admission to Harvard Law Schol. It is noted that 25% of his class was minority...typical of the liberal experimenting Harvard. And Obama will not release his grades, be it from Harvard Columbia, or Occidental.
KS, You can't stand it that most of Americans are supporting a half BLACK man for president, can you? Blah blah blah, the past is a done deal. Do you honestly think that his color is what he is about? Do you really rally against him because most African Americans support him? It just goes to show you that intelligent people come in all colors.
How can you call someone a racist when you reek of it? It's OK to call them "racist" and not consider the racial hatred thatyou spew? Get a grip man. Is your life that miserable?
Hey, Monk - they key word is "prisoner". That's what he was, so how can he be considered a communist? Your argument lacks substance. As for Palin, I think I would be more worried with Obama's association to muslim radicals (and their dirty money) than Palin's ties to a group of hill-billies wanting an independent Alaska. I am not a fan of McCain either, but I am certainly not voting for B.O.
Here's a link to an audio clip - Obama supporters being interviewed. This is funny, yet discouraging. The sad part is, clueless people may ultimately dictate the outcome of this Presidential race.
McCain/Palin are COWARDS..... They try to smear Obama with a litany of "questions" when they have all been answered by NUMEROUS people MANY times....
This is CLEARLY WMD (Weapons of Mass Distraction) and a ruse..... Here is the REAL issue...

This group thugs, Palin, Cindy, and Mccain, are going to get someome killed if they keep going down the they are on. That's my bigger fear.

I can't figure out why the Secret Service hasn't put a stop to it or are they the KKK

Remember how the GOP riled up the anti-abortionist in the 90's. Hospitals and clinics were bombed, doctors and nurses were killed and the Republican party was never held responsible..and they should have been because all of those "terrorist" attacks were done with the blessing of the GOP.
And now they're looking for those same supporters..

You've given away your true identity, Rev. Wright. Nice try with the patriot moniker.

That's the track that they are heading down, because the tempramental McCain is seeing red and losing and he's a sore loser who hates anyone who doesn't see things his way. I'm waiting for the racial slurs. And can you picture Obama in Cindy McCain's drugged up shoes standing behind McCain and bowing and extending her hand like she were the Virgin Mary?

Why do Palin and McCain encourage it rather than putting a stop to it?

sad to see a once honorable man sink so low ... tonight he finally realized this when one of his supporters - at a rally when asked why she didn't like Obama told McCain to his face the real reason was that Obama was an Arab.. for that instant - McCain realized what he had started - his face fell - he grabbed the mike back and said No... No .. she said he is not an Arab? He walked away downcast saying NO.. NO that is not right... I would make a better president but he is an American - a family man - we disagree on politics - but he is an American ... now I am paraphrasing here - but for once you saw the original McCain .. for a split second - he realized what he has started and done ... how his legacy will be written .. and he didn't much like it did he?
McCain is a tired sick old man, a vote for him will be a vote for the radical Palin, whose husband was a member of an organization who wants to overthrow the government and make Alaska it's own country. She, too supported this organization. Check it out.
For Christ's sake... everyone open your eyes. Better to at least know who's going to be running the country than to turn it over to someone who has almost no track record, and what is out there is completely deplorable: obama08pleasegodno.blogspot.com

Obama and Biden are good men that will work towards bettering the country.
If McCain was ever an honorable man he has now traded his honor to hold public office.
And Palin is a joke. Not just a nation-wide joke, but a world-wide joke.

Unfortunately, Senator McCain has sold his soul in his "Me First" campaign. As a 20 yr Arizona resident, I have watched him deteriorate morally and fiscally. We don't know McCain anymore. He's definitely not the man he seemed to be once. I supported him in 2000 and was appalled at the Bush/Rose tactics used against him. He derided them then but not has taken pages from their playbook. He has become a fear-monger, distorter and hate monger. I have absolutely no respect for him and fear what his erratic behavior would do to this country. Please don't be mislead by his distortions.

Fearful, you live up to your name. You are being driven by irrational fear. That is not the way forward for a great country such as ours.

We know a lot more about Obama's intellect, education, dedication to public service than John McCain's. Mccain was born into a family of Admirals, was a careless flyboy, crashing 5 planes. How many people's lives were jeopardized because of his careless disregard for the rules of the road. He graduated 894 out 899 from the US Naval Academy. He sat out the Vietnam war in a prison camp. It certainly was a matter of his will to survive, but many of the records of that ordeal are suppressed. Including the videotapes he made for his captors. He has been in Washington, 26 years and his nickname is "maverick" but where is that title distinguished. He didn't champion people's rights or defend the constitution. He bowed to lobbyists, sold his protections to the Keating 5 and then on occasion stood up against Republican Party leadership. Hooray, he showed courage occasionally against the cowards of the Republican Party leadership who sold their political souls to big corporations and the wealthy. Not once did McCain stand up for workers, investors, middle class families. McCain is a whiner who is living in the past and riding on past merits. As a community leader, I know, if you aren't working on present day problems then you are out of touch. McCain is yelling " fire" when all else fails. John McCain demonstrated his lack of judgement by picking Sarah Palin as his running mate and then going negative on the attacks against Obama. McCain, McShame is McAbsent in times of trouble.

sorry mister narrow minded fear merchant who beleives every lie they see about Obama without a shred of proof.. simply because they want to.... you are going to have to live with a new concept... a great president... sure you have gotten used to the worse... and you want more of the same... Mcsame.... but thats just too bad isnt it? the rest of us are sick to death of YOUR candidates... now WE are taking our country back... you will have to find another sand box to play in....

So Mr. McCoward.........
You wanna bring up the SMEARS? Quit "whispering" to the dregs of your base, and BE A MAN!!!!
We have a debate coming up on Wednesday. If you REALLY think all these smears are an issue.... Quit hiding behind your surrogates and Palin and go ahead... MAKE the accussation in public!!!
You want to fight about Character? Perfect... Quit hiding under Palin's skirt and behind campaign thugs.
I DARE YOU!!!!
- 3 votes
Exactly.
Why didn't he bring this up in the last debate, even, if it is such a big deal? Needed to see poll numbers first?
If he doesn't make the accusation directly to Obama - look him in the eyes and say it - at the next debate, If he doesn't - well, I guess that just shows that McCain has lost all honor and courage. That would be a sad sight.
It's put up or shut up.

He knows Obama isn't a terrorist. He's worked with him in the Senate for two years now - and if he were actually a terrorist, I do believe the Senate would have uncovered that tidbit, or he would of at least set off one of those weapon detectors you go thru by now. It would be slanderous to accuse him of being a terrorist directly (indirectly too, for that matter) and I don't believe even McCain would stoop that low, well maybe he would, well - never mind.

People common sense tells me if Obama was such a threat with George W Bush in office he would of been carted off to Guantanmo in a nano second and never heard from again.
This is nothing more than a pathetic political attempt from the McCain/Palin camp to discredit Obama.

How many days in a row is this going to be a big story when McCain and Palin are just taking turns saying the same things over and over and over again?
The media is desperate to make this election a nailbiter.

it's the Republican that are squealing. By the time McCain is done with his burn and destroy, not sure how many Republicans will be in Congress because of his behaviour.

I'm sure Ohmama is buying up thirty minute time slots, on most major networks, so he can outline all his "plans" for the future!
I'm sure he has no intentions of "smearing" McCain!
Why not put all the cards on the table?
Try as you may, McCain just doesn't have the kind of dirt on him, that Ohmama has hanging over his head.
"Even a blind squirrel finds an "ACORN" every now and then"!
Besides, McCain is saving the really juicy stuff for a little later!
Ohmama is such an easy target it's comical.
